There are many causes of sight loss and some of these conditions can affect anyone of us without warning. If this was to happen to YOU, how would you cope with being plunged into a world of darkest or loss of so much of your vision that you can no longer read, drive, or play your favourite sport what about your work, what would you be able to do, how would you get around especially places you have never been too, what will you do for shopping…. What would life look like for you?
At HeadTech we are not doctors, we do have many specialists and with advanced designs and software, we created the HeadTech Smart Mask with virtual eye front and rear cameras which have given us a new platform in which to launch our patented 3d 360-degree photos. It has also meant that we are able to use this technology combined with new software and AR/VR Glasses/Goggles to produce a device that can aid the sight-impaired while having the added benefits of being offered protection against Air Pollution and Pathogens.
The onboard virtual eye cameras paired with audio, mechanical or electronic input, will be able to direct a sight-impaired individuals to where they want to go and give them the freedom to be able to shop unaided as the HeadTech Smart Mask guides them throughout almost any store. The Smart Mask will not only direct them to products they are wanting to purchase but will be able to scan bar codes or the product labels themselves and translate text to talk in real-time to ensure that they have what they wanted.
With the new platform and array of cameras, combined with AR/VR Glasses/Goggles, it is envisioned that the sight-impaired, and others, will be able to shop in futuristic style, using HeadTech’s new patented system which includes everything from the shopping cart to scanning and payment process system.
While we at HeadTech are committed to helping those with sight impairment through our futuristic wearable technologies which we are continuing to research and develop, we hope to raise the awareness of sight impairment by posting several blog posts related to different types of sight impairment and the effects they have.
Do you have a loved one that has been affected by sight impairment? We encourage anyone to write a comment or share a story that has affected them in some way, or maybe just share your thoughts about how it may affect you or your family if you were to lose your sight…. after all, it can happen and does!
